The Hollywood Beauty Awards, established in 2014 by industry veteran Michele Elyzabeth, celebrate the transformative power of beauty. Elyzabeth, a former journalist and publicist, conceived the awards after her battle with breast cancer, aiming to honour the artistry of celebrity makeup artists, hair stylists, and beauty professionals.
The awards have garnered international acclaim, with past presentations and support from renowned figures such as Paris Hilton, Johnny Depp, Heidi Klum, and Lea Michele.
Josh Knight's journey into hairdressing began at the age of 14, following in his mother's footsteps. For Josh, who is severely dyslexic, hairdressing offered a vital creative outlet, providing a practical, hands-on avenue for his talents. At 16, he pursued formal training at Burton and South Derbyshire College, studying Foundation Art and Design while simultaneously working part-time at a local salon to earn his NVQ in hairdressing.
After gaining experience in Burton, Josh moved to London, where he honed his skills at a salon just off Brick Lane, a vibrant hub known for its diverse food scene, street art, and vintage fashion. He went on to collaborate with industry giants such as Sam McKnight, famed for his work with Princess Diana, Kate Moss, and Lady Gaga, and Duffy, who has worked with luxury brands including Louis Vuitton.
