“Burton Feels Like Burton Again”: The Complex Brings Out The Best In Burton.
The Burton Radio & Echo crew dive into the Complex with PUMP bringing the energy back to Burton with a monumental night.
By Harry Parker
Burton on Trent was buzzing on Saturday March 15th, as Pump returned with an unforgettable night at The Complex. The event featured three arenas, each dedicated to a different style of dance music, creating an electrifying atmosphere that had something for everyone.
For many, this night was more than just a party - it was a revival. When The Refinery closed its doors in 2001, Burton's once-thriving club scene began a slow decline, with fewer venues and events keeping the spirit alive. Over the years, the towns nightlife faded, leaving dance music lovers craving the energy and excitement of those golden days.
Pump brought that energy back in full force. The main arena saw legends Jeremy Healy, Micky Finn, Slipmatt, and Mark Aldritch delivering a mix of Pump classics, drum & bass, and jungle anthems, hosted by The Original MC Energy. Arena 2 catered to hardcore fans with Hixxy, DJ Vibes, Thumpa and Burtside, while Arena 3 brought bassline house and club classics, featuring Big Ang, Agro DJ's, Danny Baxter, and Rich Hyde, hosted by MC Jevi.
The atmosphere was electric, with a diverse crowd coming together to celebrate a long-overdue return of real clubbing to Burton. Huge credit goes to David Wain, whose passion for The Complex is reigniting the town's nightlife. If this event was any indication, Burton's club scene is ready to rise once again!
