Burton Represented: Mayor Shellagh McKiernan and Alison Lapper MBE alongside The Burton Radio & Echo team.

On Friday, 7th March, we visited the Pirelli Stadium, where SARAC (Sexual Abuse Rape Advice Centre) hosted their 30th Anniversary.

The event highlighted SARAC's achievements in supporting survivors of sexual assault and rape within the local community. Among the speakers was Alison Lapper MBE.

Born with no arms and shortened legs, and born in Burton upon Tent, Alison has overcome numerous challenges to become an internationally renowned mouth and foot artist, television personality, speaker, and Gig-Arts Charity patron.

I had the privilege of interviewing Alison about her life experiences, her art, and her personal journey.
